I'm a Gen X eldergeek, currently working in IT and going for my degree in cybersecurity. I'm passionate about photography, vintage inspired fashion, K-Pop, gaming, sci-fi cons, my two doggos, and lots of other assorted oddities. I'm a proud bi liberal feminist, I support LGBTQIA+ rights, believe that Black Lives Matter, and am a firm believer in mental health support. BE NICE OR LEAVE.

Here we go with the itch to change the layout of the site again.

I’m really digging this WP-DOS theme, for some reason I really do like the very old school green or amber text on a black background look. I think I’d go with the amber text, it reminds me a lot of the computer lab at SLU back in 1995 or so, when it was nothing but text-based and I spent almost all of my time on Usenet and doing text chat with a friend I met from Canada.

I know WP has the Live Preview feature with the block themes, where you can tweak the layout and changes BEFORE making it live, which is GREAT – but I want to play with it more first and possibly save the changes I make, and I don’t think you can do that. I believe you have to change it in one go.

Maybe I’ll take some time this weekend to play with it and see what I can do.

five minutes, one sentence.

Good lord, why is it so difficult to just get on this site and WRITE??????

It should not be this difficult. If I can block five minutes at the end of the day, I can write something. Journaling is supposed to be fucking THERAPEUTIC so why is it so hard?

I always feel like I need to post some kind of big dramatic essay or some shit like that. But I don’t. I really and truly don’t! I could literally write ONE DAMN sentence about my day and be done.

Okay. Today is the first day of autumn. My favorite season…well, when the weather finally changes to autumnal temps here in Louisiana, anyway. Let’s start this autumn with a promise to write something on this site every day. I’m going to set a reminder on my phone/calendar/etc. to pop up every night at 8PM, to write here for five minutes. FIVE MEASLY MINUTES. I can spare five minutes a day. If I go longer, great, but I’m going to devote five minutes a day to putting something on this site.
